Donnybrook Primary School
Project Overview & Scope
We were contracted to complete all external concrete works for Donnybrook Primary School in Donnybrook, Victoria. The project involved placing over 2,000 square metres of concrete for slabs, paths, walkways, and ramps across the new school site.
Our Approach
We used high-traction, slip-resistant surfaces for all paths to ensure safety for students and staff in wet conditions. All concrete is designed to withstand heavy foot traffic and long-term exposure to the elements.
All works were completed in line with Victoria’s building codes and accessibility standards. This included ensuring ramps met all requirements to accommodate wheelchairs and other mobility aids.
We coordinated closely with other trades to minimise disruptions and maintain project timelines.
Challenges
Durability Requirements: As a high-traffic educational facility, durability was key. We addressed this by using high-performance materials resistant to moisture, UV exposure, and wear.
Tight Project Timeline: A tight project timeline required us to complete our portion of the work promptly to avoid delaying other trades. Our experienced team maximised efficiency and managed weather risks to keep the project on track.
Architectural Integration: The minimalist architectural design also demanded clean, consistent finishes that blended visually with the rest of the site.
Outcome
All external concrete works were completed on schedule and to specification. The result met all safety and accessibility standards for an educational facility and supported the site’s overall functionality and design vision.
